Why do I need this medicine?
Glycopyrronium Bromide is used to reduce the production of saliva and other secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach before surgery.

This medicine is also used to treat severe drooling in children, stomach ulcer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a lung disease that makes it hard to breathe).
How do I use this medicine?
Glycopyrronium Bromide is to be given intravenously (into the vein). It is delivered directly into the bloodstream via the blood vessel.

Your doctor or nurse will administer this medicine to you.
When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have:

- stomach disease (e.g. stomach ulcer, stomach/bowel obstruction)
- heart disease
- glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes)
- enlarged prostate
- muscle weakness disorder
as Glycopyrronium Bromide may not be suitable for you.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:

- Down syndrome (genetic disorder)
- thyroid disease
- kidney disease

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What side effects could I experience?
Glycopyrronium Bromide may cause any of the following side effects: warm feeling and reddening of the skin, headache, vomiting, constipation, dry mouth, difficulty urinating, stuffy or congested nose, and pain in the sinuses.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:

- medicine for cold or allergy e.g. cetirizine, loratadine
- medicine for heart disease e.g. digoxin, isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate
- metoclopramide (medicine for vomiting)
- levodopa (medicine for Parkinson's disease)
- ketoconazole (medicine for fungal infections)

This list does not include all medicines that may interact with Glycopyrronium Bromide.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicine, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.

What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Avoid alcohol.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
